Constance Bassett
Constance Bassett, 85, died August 31, 2007 in Dallas. Services will be held in Novi, Michigan.
Constance was born November 11, 1921 to Martin and Sigrid Burnoski in Detroit, Michigan. She and her husband, John E. Bassett, were married for 51 years. They lived in Michigan where they raised their children. She traveled extensively in Europe and the United States with her husband. They toured the 48 states on their Honda Gold Wing motorcycle in the warm months and toured Northern Michigan on their snowmobile during the winter. She truly enjoyed music and dancing and continued dancing in public performances until her mid 70's. She played piano, organ, flute and piccolo and was selected to be a member of The Detroit Conservatory of Music Orchestra performing in public and on the radio. She was an early member of the Waterford Community Band and performed with them. She retired from General Motors after thirty years of service.
In 1996 Mrs. Bassett moved to Azle to be close to her daughter. She regularly attended the Senior Citizens Center here, enjoying the fun and fellowship it provided. She loved her family, shopping, costume jewelry, clothes, hats and ice cream. Her survivors have many memories of happy times and laughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and her sister, Audrey. Survivors include her son, Ross Bassett and wife Valerie of Topinabee, Michigan; daughter, Barbara Cannon and husband Dennis of Azle; grandsons, Kevin Castelli and wife Cheryl of Grand Prairie and Colin Castelli of Seoul, Korea; great-grandchildren, Erin Castelli of Grand Prairie, John Castelli of Phoenix and Kevin Castelli, Jr. of Grand Prairie; niece Cheryl Archer and family of California and nephew, Mark Archer and wife Donna and their family of Ohio.
