      Coudersport
      March 15, 1887
Dear children, I have at last found a chance to answer your letter which I was very glad to get it. found us very wll considering our years. father is a cripple yet in his arm, and we expect he always will be, it is six months since he was hurt, and he can't raise his arm yet just work his arm from the elbo, but no much strength in it some days his hand is sweld full. father has faild wonderful since he was hurt, i don't think he feals very well any of the time, but he dont complain. The 11th of this month he was seventy one years old, so you see he is far in years. I have many times wonderd what I was spared for when I was brought so near death, but I believe it was to take care of father, for my helth is better than it has bin in a good many years. god grant it so, I will try and do my duty,. Charley styas with us. if he didnt we would have to brake up, and I guess go the to the poor house, but Charley is a noble good Boy, I shall always bless him, for being so food to us. the wrest of the folks are well. willia is down to pike mills a running a dray waggon. is a doing good buisness. Mira and carrie and orville have experienced religion, we have had a great revival hear, the salvation armmy came to coudersport in febuary and held meatings three weeks. it was there young boys, the leader was only 18 years old a year ago he was a reckless gambler he was conser.. and started rite out to preaching and I never see such powere in his worship as attended his meathings. he made over a hundred and fifty converts as many as five and six hudnred to a meating all that could croud in the rink it beat every thing I ever witnessd he was the happyest person I ever see, a great many people bless him for the good he done here in coudersport, well it is nice wether now but we have no new shugar yet.
Oh Dear Henry, if I could only se you what a hug I would give you, you keep a going farther from us all the time what makes you dont I dont expect to ever see you again. dont let Angy and them dear little children forget me, give them all a good smack for me, and you both write often, it is easyer for you to write than this for me. good by my lvoe to you all. Mother
