Brent Basset Watson
Brent Bassett Watson, 40, of Baytown, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2009. He was born September 19, 1969, to Craig Bassett Watson and Dana Kay McKelvey Watson in Houston. He graduated from Texas A & M University in 1992 and was a member of the 12th Man Foundation. He proudly served his country in the United State Marines, was a member of Second Baptist Church in Baytown, and worked professionally as a financial advisor. He enjoyed coaching little league sports, hunting and fishing, attending concerts, swimming and helping others. His two children, Parker and Gwen Watson, were the joys of his life. He was a wonderful son, father, brother, uncle and friend.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth and Juana McKelvey and Paul and Dorothy Watson, Brent is survived by his two children, Parker and Gwen Watson; mother, Dana Baldwin and husband, Dave; father, Craig Watson and wife, Sheila; brother, Blake Watson and wife, Michelle; mother of his children, Terri Watson; mother and father-in-law, Jerry and Donna Ruyle; nieces, Chelsea Watson, Kyndle Lucas, and Brittani Hill; nephews, Tanner and McCall Lucas and Jeremy Ruyle; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Goat and Kerri Lucas, Garry and Vicky Ruyle and Jay and Kimberly Ruyle; and numerous friends and family who will miss his presence in their lives.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 4, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Crespo and Jirrels Funeral Home. A service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Second Baptist Church, with Reverend Mark Stafford officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Blake Watson, Sammy Watkins, Ray Silva, Goat Lucas, Tanner Lucas and McCall Lucas.
