Obituary in THE HERALD, Provo Utah, Sunday, September 15, 1985: "Essie Milton Bassett, 79, Afton, Wyo. died Saturday, Sept 14, 1985 at Mountain View Hospital, Payson. He was born Dec. 24, 1905 at Mendon, Utah to Milo Ammon and Camilla Rasmussen Bassett. He married Esther Irene Smith June 21, 1926 at Paris, Idaho. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At the age of 5, he moved to the Star Valley, Wyo. area settling near Osmond.... Survivors include his wife of Afton, three daughters and two sons: Mrs. Thomas (Billie) Willey, Wiggins, Colo.; Winona Bate, Denver, Colo.; Leslie M. Bassett, Edmund Okla.; Irvin G. Bassett and Judy L. Bassett, both Springville; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters: Ammon Bassett, Osmond; Marie Hammon [Cunningham], Homer, Alaska; Avilda Angelsey, Willard; Fern Anglesey, Grants Pass, Ore.; Marion Bassett, Lovell, Wyo.; and Esther Lee Grants Pass. Services and burial will be Thursday in Osmond under the direction of Schwabb Mortuary, Afton.
