Louis Frank Bassett, Sr., 75, Clarksville, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Central Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Carolyn Nobling officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born December 1, 1933 in Ellington, Connecticut, son of the late Adolfus Bassett and Eva Lapointe Bassett. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Bassett. Mr. Bassett was a member of Central Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a self-employed painter and served in the US Army. Survivors include his wife, Janice Rossmeisl Bassett; sons, Louis F. Bassett Jr. (Patricia), Clarksville; Steven Bassett, Massachusetts; and Jeffery Bassett, Dover, Tennessee; daughters, Cindy Paluska (Mike), Connecticut; and Tammy King (Chuck), Elkton, Kentucky; twenty-seven grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Louis F. Bassett, III, Marky Bassett, Keith Bassett, Frankie Rychling, Charlie Coy, and Ed Rondo.
