- Woodfin - Lucille Deaetta Bassett, 74, of Woodfin, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was employed by Kellwood Manufacturing for 32 years and retired from Cransten Print Works following 11 years of service. She attended North Asheville Baptist Church. Mrs. Bassett was the daughter of the late Charles and Grace Garland Robertson. She was also preceded in death by three sisters: Katherine, Libby, and Jo Ann; and two brothers: Charles and Walter. Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Roy Bassett; children: Charles Bassett and wife Brenda, and Charlene Redmond and husband Jimmy; grandchildren: Atea, Alyssa, and Alexis; great-grandchildren: Kaycen, Keithan, and Ace; sisters: Betty, Patricia and Elaine; brothers: Jimmy, Gary, and Mike; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jimmy Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Elk Mountain Cemetery.
