Mrs. Anna Walden, 76, Native of Texas, Dies
Mrs. Anna Louise Walden, 76, native of Texas and resident of Dallas for fifty-six years, died Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Maurice Clark Turner, 3820 Gillon avenue.
Mrs. Walden was born at Brownsville, February 6, 1854, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sucliffe Leman, who came to Texas from South Carolina. She moved to Dallas in 1874, and in the following year she was married to John W. Walden.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Walden Bassett of Roswell, New Mexico, and Mrs. Turner of Dallas; two grandsons, John Walden Bassett of Roswell and Maurice Clark Turner Jr. of Dallas; a brothers, Robert Leman of Nacogdoches, and a sister, Mrs. Maggie L. Hayes of Austin.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the home of Mrs. Turner, with the Reverend Goodrich R. Fenner, rector of Christ Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be K.D. Gillespie, Charles Schooler, James C. Stephens, Hugh Stratton, O.F. Wencher and Lewis McMahan.
