George E. Bassett Jr.
BASSETT, GEORGE E., JR., 83, of Elinora St., Riverside, passed into his
eternal rest with his loving family by his side Friday evening, September 12,
2008 at the Roger Williams Medical Center. He was the husband of the la
Doris (Lusignan) Bassett.
Born June 5, 1925, in East Providence, he was the son of the late George E.
and Harriet Alice (Talbot) Bassett. Mr. Bassett was a WWII veteran serving
with the US Army Air Corps.
He will be remembered for living life with a thirst for knowledge, and his
diverse interests of art, reading, computers, fishing, whitewater rafting and
hot air ballooning.
He is survived by his children, Cheryl A. Pimental and her husband Dennis of
Johnston, Richard D. Bassett and his wife Claudette of Riverside, and Deborah
E. Bassett and her husband Steven Thomas of Woodstock, VT; 7 grandchildren; 11
great grandchildren; and his sister, Janice Kapp of North Port, FL.
A memorial service will begin Wednesday at 11am at St. Mark's Episcopal
Church, 10 Turner Ave., Riverside. Calling hours will be Tuesday 5-8pm in the
REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence. Relatives and friends are
invited to attend.
