Yasuko Bassett, 80
BUZZARDS BAY - Yasuko Bassett, 80, of Buzzards Bay, died Saturday at Tobey
Hospital in Wareham.
She was the wife of George C. Bassett Jr. for 46 year
Mrs. Bassett was born and raised in Japan.
A homemaker and seamstress who enjoyed making her own clothes, she
also loved needlepoint and gardening.
She was an avid sports fan and loved to cook.
Surviving besides her husband are four sisters, Chieko Aoyama, Tsuya
Aoyama and Tomeko Matsuura, all of Japan, and Mineko Aoyama of Buzzards Bay;
and a brother, Mitsuro Aoyama of Japan.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Nickerson-Bourne
Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Boulevard, Bourne, Burial will be in the
Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Visiting hour is 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral hom
