Bassett, Sr. died Thursday, (August 17, 2006) at Ingraham Manor, Bristol. She was born June 17, 1913 in Hartford, daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Thompson) Tumas and had lived in Ohio, Farmington and Unionville prior to moving to Bristol 19 years ago. Della enjoyed knitting, crafts, gardening and African violets. She is survived by a son, a daughter-in-law. Edward L. Bassett, Jr. and his wife Frances of Unionville, six grandchildren, Dawn Chinsky and her husband Steven, Todd Bassett and his wife Sheila, Mark Bassett, Christofer Bassett and his wife Sherri, Karin Goodbar and her husband Perry and Catherine Blain and ten great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Kenneth D. Bassett. There are no calling hours. Private burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Avon. Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike, Canton has charge of the arrangements.
