Alice Edith Bassett
Edith Bassett was born in Tacoma to Rose Katherine (Madsen) and Sherman Evans. She attended Jefferson Elementary School and Stadium High School. She married Adrian J. Bassett on January 9, 1936. Edith was a long time member of Epworth-LeSourd United Methodist Church. She was a member of International Grandmother's Club and AARP since 1970. For years she and her husband owned and operated a store/tavern on South M. Street. Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian (1969), step-daughter, Karen Wood and niece Merle Elaine Bitney Smith (1982). She is survived by Ray and Maxine Peterson (niece), Brent and Judy Hagen (nephew), Clifford Wood (step-grandson-in-law), Myrna Kovak (step-granddaughter); a great-grandniece; great-grandnephews; numerous great-great-grandnieces and nephews. Services Thursday, 11 am, in Mt. View Garden Chapel. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home. 584-0252.
