      Charles Frederick Bassett, P.E., Greece: 89, born September 4, 1926, in Ames, IA. Survived by sons George (Ruth) Bassett, Richard (Sallye) Stutzman, David (Margaret) Stutzman, James Charles (Barbara) Bassett, and Robert Ray (Tammy) Bassett. Husband of Rita (nee Ames) Bassett and two deceased wives, Alaine (nee Bushfield), and Carolyn (nee Chesnut). Also survived by siblings James Robert (Judy) Bassett, Florence (Bill) Hinckley, Margaret Viccari, and Jean Kinyon. Grandfather of 18; great-grandfather of 19.

      Chuck served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy in WWII and Korea. He became an engineering supervisor at Kodak Park, retiring at age 56, after 31 years of service. He was active in the Instrument Society of America, where he was an international Vice President. He was a charter member of Westside Baptist Church, now Journey Christian Church. Beloved of family, church members, and friends, Chuck's humor, generous spirit, and deep faith touched all he knew.

      Friends may call Friday (April 1st) 5-7 PM at Vay-Schleich and Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday (April 2nd) 10:00 AM at Journey Christian Church, 3955 Mt. Read Blvd. Interment, Riverside Cemetery.       Charles F. Bassett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Bassett of Saratoga Springs, and a member of the Naval Unit at Brown University, has been named to the Navy Class ?A? List for high scholastic standing.
      Bassett, a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School, is a member of the junior class at Brown. He was valedictorian of the class of 1944 at Saratoga High and was named by Rep. Dean P. Taylor as alternate to the U.S Military Academy.
