Dayne Ellis Bassett (Picture included)

Dayne Ellis Bassett, age 85 of Alma, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis.
Dayne was a member of the Kinmundy Christian Church. He worked for many years at Leckrone John Deere in Salem. He retired from the Centralia Corrections Center. He loved anything to do with horses and he enjoyed horseback riding and going to horse show.
Graveside services for Dayne Bassett will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at 2:00 pm at Sandy Branch Cemetery in Alma, with Josh Conley officiating. Those in attendance are asked to please wear a mask and follow social distancing recommendations. Memorial contributions can be made to the Sandy Branch Cemetery and left at Crouse Funeral Home who is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be left at www.CrouseFH.com.
Dayne was born at home in Foster Township, IL on November 16, 1934, the son of Ellis and Clella (Caldwell) Bassett. He married Virgie T. (Tutt) Bassett, on May 12, 1953, and she survives in Alma.
Survivors include his wife, son, Michael Bassett, and wife Sheryl of Godfrey; daughters, Kathy Smith and husband Steve of Texico and Diana Brooks and husband Bob of Mathis TX.; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren
Dayne was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dale Bassett.
