Ruby Batten "Aunt Ruby" Bassett
Ruby Batten Bassett "Aunt Ruby", 97, a resident of Highland Springs for over
60 years, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, January 7, 2006. She
was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Wilber Bassett. She will be
deeply missed by her sister and her many nieces and nephews, who along with
all of her family and friends, have loved and appreciated her gentle, caring
and creative ways. Her life was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
Friends may call at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., 2 to 8
p.m. Monday, January 9, and Tuesday, January 10, where funeral services will
be conducted Wednesday, January 11, at 1 p.m. Interment Washington Memorial
Park. Memorial donations may be made to Henrico Volunteer Rescue Squad.
