Charles J. Bessette
Charles J. Bessette, 73, of 154 Main street, West Springfield, retired hotel man, died yesterday at Mercy hospital after a long illness. He was born July 3, 1868, in Redford, N.Y., and had been a resident of West Springfield for the past 50 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He leaves his widow, Emma L. Norris Bessette; a son, Eugene; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother, Ulric, and two sisters, Mrs. Emma LaPointe of Farnham, Que., and Mrs. Wilfred Girard of Cornwall, Ont. The funeral will be held at the Curran-Jones funeral home, West Springfield, tomorrow morning at 8.15, followed by solemn requiem high mass at Immaculate Conception church at 9. Burial will be in St. Thomas cemetery, West Springfield.
