      Eva Draper Pope
      April 15, 1918 ? August 20, 2016

Eva Draper Pope, age 98, died Saturday, August 20, at the Apple Valley Residency surrounded by family members who loved her very much. Eva was born April 15, 1918, in Emmett, Idaho to Ariel and Bertha Malmstrom. Eva was the fifth daughter, tenth and last child for the Malmstrom family. Eva lived her entire life in Emmett. She attended Wardwell and Longfellow schools for her elementary schooling and graduated from Emmett High School in 1938. She grew up working at many of the well-known places of business in town learning how to assist and help people and gained experiences that served her all the rest of her life. She married Howard Draper on May 11, 1940. Howard had earlier married Verna Bassett and had two children, Norma Lynn and Rex Erwin. Verna died July 23, 1938 so Eva began married life with two lovely children. Three sons, Boyd, Neal, and Kyle and a cherished daughter, Janet, joined the family. Howard died October 28, 1965. Eva loved to interact and help people so she was an Avon representative for many years. She discovered her talents of helping people in her vocation as a Licensed Practical Nurse, graduating August 26, 1968. She found employment at Walter Knox Hospital in Emmett and worked there for 13 years. She felt blessed to have assisted in the births of 8 of her grandchildren. Before it was widely accepted and gaining popularity, Eva studied reflexology. Her hallmark foot rubs, complete with descriptive dialogue, will be remembered by many. Eva married life-long friend, Terrel Pope, on August 26, 1978. They loved camping, fishing, gardening, visiting family members and helping each other. Eva is preceded in death by both Howard and Terrel, sons, Rex and Kyle, and daughter, Janet. She is survived by daughter, Lynn Sawyer and son, Boyd Draper, both of Emmett, and Neal Draper of Fair Oaks, CA. She had close bonds with over 100 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was loved and admired as "Grandma" and "Aunt Eva." Eva was a member of the LDS Church. She loved to garden, enjoyed music, playing her harmonica, and learning to play the accordion. She was a gifted painter. She was a kind and loving woman. She touched lives wherever she went. She appreciated her long life as a gift from God and truly tried to magnify His teachings. She will be missed by a host of other relatives and friends.
Her funeral is scheduled for Thursday, August 25, 2016. A viewing will be held at 10:00 am with funeral services at 11:00 am at the LDS Stake Center and burial will follow at Emmett Cemetery. Services under the direction of the Potter Funeral Chapel.
