Mrs. Julia Bass Passes At 74
Stokesdale, October 23 - Mrs. Julia Ballard Bass, 74, died at 6:15 a.m. today at the home of a daughter, Mrs. James H. Vanhoy at Route 1, Belew’s Creek, with whom she had made her home for the past 10 years. She had been in declining health 16 months and seriously ill two weeks.
She was born September 16, 1885 in Horatio, Soth Carolina, and was a member of the Latta, South Carolina, chapter of Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of Goodwill Baptist Church at Route 2, Kernersville, was active in the church’s WMU and was a member of the Rebecca Bible Class.
Surviving, in addition to Mrs. Vanhoy, are a son, Carl F. Bass of Route 1, Belew’s Creek; a brother, R.M. Ballard of Evergreen; three nieces; and a nephew.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body will remain at Brook-Vanhoy Funeral Home.
