      Joseph K. Butcher
      Joseph K. Butcher of Mannington Township died June 7, 2006. He was 91 years old. Born in Penns Grove he lived in Mannington since the age of 9.
      He owned and operated Butcher Oil Co. for many years and worked for Salem County Dept. of Weights and Measures before retiring. He was one of the original planners to initiate the School Bus Service to provide transportation for Mannington Township for several years. He is predeceased by his wife, Doris Blair Butcher; his sister, Sarah Butcher Sharp; and his parents, Thomas S. Butcher and Ellen C. Butcher. Surviving are his daughters, Joanne Butcher Bassett, (Edwin Russell Bassett Jr.) of Manning Township and Patricia Butcher Urion, (Kenard E. Urion) of Woodbury; grandchildren, Kimberly Bassett Whitehead, (Larry Whitehead) of Woodstown, Edwin Russell Bassett III of Woodstown, Michael Scott Urion of Thorofare, Trisha J. Aliano of Sewell; great grandchild, Nicholas A. Pagano of Sewell.
      Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Mannington Township Fire Co. #1, 175 Route 45, Salem, NJ 08079. Arrangements are by Woodside Funeral Home, Salem.
