Gerald D. Bassett
Gerald D. Bassett, 75, of Whitehall PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was married 37 years to the love of his life, Fran (Brackman) Bassett. Born on January 22, 1940 in Taunton, MA, he was the son of the late Walton and Rita (Lyons) Bassett. Gerald honorably served his country for 22 years in the United States Navy. He also worked as the Executive Vice President of Lehigh Valley Physicians Imaging Center. He was an avid fisherman and a huge NASCAR fan. Gerald was also a dedicated fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include: daughters, Sharyn Bassett Barata and her partner Kevin Grenny, Anna Liley and her husband Roy, Jennifer Levine, Rachael Bassett Goldberg and her husband Steve, son, Matthew Davis and his wife Stacie, 9 wonderful grandchildren (Josh, Alex, Catie, Ryan, Brooke, Ava Kate, Emma, Jaxon, and River), 1 great-grandson (Chandler), brother, George Ward, sisters, Eleanor Porter and Judith (Silva)Pearson. A Remembrance Service will be celebrated in Atlanta, Georgia. Online condolences may be submitted at www.reichelfuneralhome.com.
