Marcus L. Castle Died Sunday
Marcus L. Castle, gunsmith and expert mechanician, died Sunday morning
at his home, 78 Constable Street, after a week’s illness. Death resulted from
pneumonia. He was 57 years of age.
Mr. Castle had operated a repair business on Amsden Street since 1919,
specializing in guns, locks, typewriters, picture-framing and kindred lines
and was an expert workman. He was born at Brasher Iron Works, a son of Henry
and Eliza Dreen Castle. For a long period of years he was associated with E.N.W
Robbins before he established his own shop.
Mr. Castle was an ardent sportsman and an enthusiastic member of the
Malone Fish and Game Club. He maintained a camp at Lake Titus and found a
deep enjoyment in outdoor life.
The deceased was a member of the Methodist Church and was a citizen of
the highest type.
He was united in marriage with Betty Bush who survives him with two
daughters, Mrs. Carl Stebbins of Saranac Lake and Mrs. Clarence Bassett,
Malone. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. W.B. Drain, Malone, and Mrs. George
Sayer, Constable.
