      Jared Simon Bassett

      CASTLETON, Nov. 20. ? Jared Simon Bassett died this morning at the home of his sister, Mrs. Charles McCann at Delta, Pa. The cause of his death was pneumonia, he heaving been sick since Sunday. He was born in Castleton, June 12, 1893 and had been employed at the Stasco Milling company for several years having been transferred to Delta by the company. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Hattie Basset; three sisters, Mrs. John Lynch of Castleton, Mrs. Charles McCann of Delta, Pa., Miss Mary Bassett of Plainfield, N.J.; a brother, Clinton A. Bassett of Castleton and an uncle, Charles Bassett of Castleton. He was past master of Lee lodge of Masons of which organization he had been a member for 20 years. The family will return to Castleton on Saturday afternoon. The funeral services will be held at the Congregational church, Castleton, on Monday afternoon at two o?clock. Burial will be at Castleton cemetery with the Masonic service at the cemetery.

      J. Simon Bassett Expires At Delta

      Delta, Nov. 20 ? J. Simon Bassett, employed as a sheet metal worker at the Stasco Milling company, Whiteford, died at 1 o?clock this morning at the home of his sister, Mrs. Charles McCann, this place. Death was caused by pneumonia, following a short illness. He was aged 43 years, five months and eight days.
      A native of Castleton, Vt., Mr. Bassett came here a number of years ago. He is survived by his mother of Castleton, Vt., and two sisters, Mrs. McCann, with whom he resided, and Miss Mary Basset, a trained nurse, who had been in attendance during his illness.
      Funeral services were held this evening at 8 o?clock at the McCann home in charge of Rev. B.W. Jones. Tomorrow morning Funeral Director H.P. Harkins will take the body to Castleton, Vt., where funeral services and burial will be made Monday.
