Arthur L. Bassett, 49
RUTLAND - Arthur L. Bassett, 49, of 78 Bushy Lane, an avid outdoorsman, died
Monday in Rutland. He leaves his wife, Cheryl L. (Sibley) Bassett; a stepson,
Mark S. Lemay of Rutland; two stepdaughters, Christina L. Fadden of Worcester
and Laura L. Lemay of Rutland; his mother, Marjorie E. (Clark) Basse
Holden; a brother, David R. Bassett of Princeton; his paternal grandmother,
Mary B. (Dominitis) Bassett of Holden; a nephew and a niece. Born in Holden,
son of Robert W. Bassett Sr., he moved to Rutland in 1984. He graduated from
Worcester Boys Trade High School.
Mr. Bassett was a planner 25 years with Norton Co. in Worcester. An avid hunter
and fisherman, he was a life member of the Rutland Sportsmen's Club and was
president of the New England Wildlife Turkey Federation. The funeral service
will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the First Congregational Church of Rutland, 264
Main St. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m.
tomorrow at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to New England Wildlife Turkey Federation,
