An Arcadia obituary for John N. Bassett, son of Jahiel, states that he died 23 Jul 1900. He was born in 1840 in Almont Township and lived there to age 17, and moved to the Hadley farm. He moved to Addison, Oakland County, and from there to Lum, where he lived 21 years. He left a wife and four daughters.
