Bassett, a former well known resident of the Sacred Heart parish and residing at 30 Mead street, Charlestown, died last night at the Massachusetts General Hospital after a short illness. Born in Lowell, he was the son of Cyrus R. Bassett and the late Ellen (Curry) Bassett. A graduate of the Sacred Heart school, he was a former member of the OMI Cadets. Besides his wife, Pamela (Florentino) Bassett, he is survived by one daughter, Miss Rita Bassett and two sons, Charles and Paul, all of Charlestown; his father, Cyrus R., one brother, Cyrus J., three sisters, Mrs. Henry Bellefueille, and Mrs. Herman Gendreau, all of Lowell, and Mrs. Edward J. Welch of Mechanicsville, N.Y., and many nieces and nephews.
