  Notes	Evening Post, 29 February 1936 Obituary, Mr. T.H. Bassett Following a protracted illness, the death of Mr. Thomas Hilton Bassett occurred recently in the Masterton Hospital. Mr. Bassett, who was 36 years of age, was the second son of Mr. T H. Bassett, of Carterton, and grandson of very early settlers ? the late Mr. and Mrs. T. Bassett, of Ohariu, and the late Mr. and Mrs. M. Hawthorne, of Wellington. Mr. Bassett was educated at Ohariu School, also at Wellington College, later residing with his parents at Carterton, where he married a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. Oliver, well-known residents of the Wairarapa. He is survived by his wife and small daughter, by his parents, two brothers, Messrs. F.N. and G.M. Bassett, of Carterton, and one sister, Mrs. W.J. Kay, of Wellington.
