Mrs. Milton E. Bassett
Mrs. Marguerite S. Bassett, of 206 Old Mill road, Fairfield, widow of Milton E. Bassett, died today in Hillside hospital.
Services will be announced by the Wilmot, West and Guilding funeral home, 1209 Post road, Fairfield.

Services for Mrs. Marguerite S. Bassett, of 208 Old Mill road, Fairfield, widow of Milton E. Bassett, who died Monday, will take place Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Park Street Congregational church, with the Rev. H. Parker Lansdale officiating. Burial will be in Central Burial Ground, Hamden.
The Wilmot, West and Goulding funeral home, 1209 Post road, Fairfield, is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Bridgeport, Mrs. Bassett was an area resident all of her life. She was a member of the Park Street Congregational church 60 years, where she was a past president of the Women's league. She was a former treasurer of the Friday Evening Book club, and a member of the Bridgeport YMCA auxiliary.
Survivors are two sons, Milton E. Bassett Jr. of North Pomfret, Vt., and John P. Bassett of Fairfield; a daughter, Mrs. Noah Halper of Cherry Hill, N.J.; a brother, J. Louis Schwertle of Fairfield; a sister, Mrs. Frank Smethurst of Trumbull, and eight grandchildren.
