Lillian Bosquit "Baby" Finley Bassett, 90, of Henderson, KY formerly of Madisonville, KY passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson.
She was born on July 12, 1924 in Madisonville to the late Lonnie Leonard Finley and Lillian Clair Bosquit Finley. Lillian was a 1946 University of Kentucky graduate and was a lifetime member of the UK Alumni Association. She was involved with the Hopkins County Historical Society and supported the Hopkins County Public Library.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband in 2003, John William Bassett, Sr.; a daughter who passed away on May 19, 1979, Bell Finley Bassett Wright; and a son, John William Bassett, Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Lil Bassett of Louisville, KY, Ruth Ann Bassett Buchanan and husband Dwayne of Henderson, KY, Susan Katherine Bassett of Somerset, KY and Elizabeth Claire Bassett Horlock and husband Jim of St. Charles, IL; sons, Seth Thomas Bassett of Newburgh, IN and Lonnie James Bassett and wife Kristi Wilson of Henderson, KY; grandchildren; Wesley Wright, Michael Bassett, Ann Buchanan Cunningham, Courtney Buchanan Vowels, Adam Buchanan, Kati Bassett, Morgan Bassett, Riley Horlock and Taylor Horlock; great-grandchildren, Bella Rae Cunningham, Sydney Claire Cunningham, Louis Christopher Cunningham, Liam Finley Wright, Lily Kathryn Wright and Violet Bell Wright; and daughter-in-law, Marie Caple Bassett of Hartford, KY.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Hughlan Richey officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service hour Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made in Lillian's memory to the Kentucky American Cancer Society, Special Olympics of Kentucky or Campus Crusade for Christ (https://give.cru.org/0497303). Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
