      Raymond M. Crum Jr., 88, died Saturday, September 8, 2018. He was born in Waterbury, Ct on June 17, 1930 to the late Raymond M. and Mildred (Mowry) Crum. He was a graduate of Huntington High School and attended Becker Junior College prior to enlisting in the U.S Air Force in 1952. He was a Korean War Veteran and served in Pusan Korea as a GCA repairman. He married Ann (Bessette) Crum in 1962. Ray was manager of Bijou theatre for B&Q Associates, and was a member of I.A.T.S.E Motion Picture Machine Operators Local 186, where he was secretary/treasurer and business agent. For many years Ray worked as a motion picture projectionist at local theatres and ended his career at Showcase Cinemas where he worked for 25 years. Ray was an enthusiastic fan of New England sports, especially the Boston Red Sox and was active in the local bingo circuit. He was a member of St. Peter and St. Casimir Parish where he was a eucharistic minister, member of the parish council and operator and caller for parish bingo. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 100. The Crum family appreciates the loving care shown to Ray by the staff of Genesis Westfield Center. He leaves his wife Ann (Bessette) Crum, his children Susan, James and his wife Genea and Jeffrey and his wife Jill. He also leaves his grandchildren Giancarlo and Daniela Romeo, Taylor, Hayden, Julia and Lauren Crum, his sister Barbara Sanderson and two nephews. He was pre-deceased by his son Steven in 1999. The funeral for Ray will be held on Wednesday, September 12th at 11 am at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield followed by A Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at St. Peter and St. Casimir Parish 22 State Street, Westfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary?s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 4-7 pm. Donation in memory of Ray may be made to the Chalice of Salvation, P.O. Box 1730, Springfield, MA 01102. or to St. Peter and St Casimir Parish, 22 State Street, Westfield, MA.
