BENNINGTON - Kimberly E. Bessette, 63, died Sunday, July 15, 2018, at her residence, of cancer. She was born July 1, 1955, in Bennington, the daughter of Ezekiel and MaryLou (Reed) Cross. She received her education in local schools and attended cosmetology school. On June 29, 1985, she married Steven K. Bessette. Mrs. Bessette owned and operated her beauty shop, Kim's South Street Salon, for over 30 years. She originally started the business in Hoosick Falls, New York. She enjoyed working with flowers, gardening, cooking, fishing, boating and spending time at camp. Survivors include her husband and a son, Eric Cross, both of Bennington; two grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Amy Pawlowski, and two step-grandchildren; her mother and a brother, Peter Cross, both of Shaftsbury; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father; and two siblings Alan Cross, Doris Bigart-Lemieux. The private memorial will be held at the convenience of the family.
