      Charles J. Bassett Jr. Dies of Heart Failure
      Charles Julius Bassett Jr., only son of ex-Secretary of State C.J. Bassett, died a few minutes after 8 o'clock last evening from heart failure, following an aggravated attack of tonsillitis. He was first taken sick about 10 days ago but it was not until Thursday that his condition was considered dangerous.
      He was born in Salt Lake City October 20, 1878. At the time his parents were resident of Idaho. He was raised in Blackfoot, where he attended the public schools, graduating from the high school of that city. He afterward finished a two years' course in the agricultural college of Logan, Utah.
      During his father's incumbency as secretary of state he was an employee of the office. For the past year he had been connected with the Canyon county canal survey.
      Funeral services will be held at the family residence, 416 South Fourth street, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in the Odd Fellows cemetery.
      The family has the sympathy of a very large circle of friends in the hour of their bereavement.

      Funeral Of The Late Charles J. Bassett Jr.
      All that was mortal of the late Charles Julius Bassett, Jr. was laid to rest in Odd Fellows cemetery yesterday afternoon. The funeral services, which were held at the family residence, 416 South Fourth Street, beginning at 2 o'clock, were particularly impressive, though brief. A large concourse of people attended.
      Rev. E.E. Fife, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, delivered a short sermon, dwelling upon the consolation that may be received from faith in the Lord and directing words of comfort to the bereaved relatives. A great many followed the body of the deceased to the cemetery. The floral tributes were exceedingly beautiful.
