Dorothy C. Bassett, 90, Sugarloaf
SUGARLOAF - Dorothy C. Bassett, 90, of East County Road, passed away suddenly on Tuesday evening, Dec. 21, 2010, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
Before moving in with her daughter in Macungie four months ago, she had lived in Sugarloaf for 58 years.
She was born Sept. 22, 1920, in Danville, a daughter of the late Harry P. and Bertha (Aten) Everett. Dorothy was married to Clarence Y. Bassett, who preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 2002.
Dorothy was a member of Conyngham United Methodist Church, Conyngham, where she previously served as a Sunday school teacher. She was a past member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Dorothy was a homemaker for most of her life, and she enjoyed sewing and was a wonderful cook.
She is survived by one son, Ronald Bassett, of Wind Gap; one daughter, Linda Boland and her husband, Timothy, of Macungie; two grandchildren, Erin Boland, of Cambridge, Mass., and Timothy Boland, of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, Harry P. Everett Jr. and his wife, Verna, of Danville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Everett, and one sister, Anne Everett.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Harman Funeral Homes and Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, followed by the funeral at 11 with her pastor, the Rev. Lorelei Toombs, officiating.
Burial will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
