Simone Vivian Herritt (1944 ? 2017) (Picture included)
NORTH STONINGTON, Conn. - Simone passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017. Born in Fall River, Mass. on Oct. 5, 1944, she ultimately settled for 45 years in North Stonington.
For 30 years Simone worked for Richard 'Skip' Hayward as an executive assistant helping pursue the Mashantucket Pequot Tribes' federal recognition and subsequent accomplishment.
Simone enjoyed travelling and visiting areas around the world such as Alaska, Istanbul, and Ireland. Her travel adventures also included a humanitarian mission to Haiti with the Haitian Health Foundation. When not on an adventure, she loved to spend time relaxing in Cape Cod or the local shoreline.
She is predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Rita Bessette, of Fall River, Mass. Simone is survived by her son, Scott Lee Herritt and his wife, Tracy Udelson; her son, Capt. Charles William Herritt; and her daughter, Stacy Ann Herritt.
Simone's family will greet friends at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl St. in downtown Mystic, on Thursday, Dec. 14 from 5 to 7 p.m.
