Lois (Bassett) Fons
Lois (Bassett) Fons, 80, died May 8, 2014, after a short illness. Lois was born in New London, CT, the daughter of Joseph I. Bassett and Mae (Anderson) Bassett. She graduated cum laude from Bristol High School and went on to graduate from Connecticut College. Lois married her college sweetheart, Stanley D. Fons, who attended Yale University. They spent 53 loving years together before Stan passed away in 2011. She enjoyed many years as a mother and a homemaker in Bedford, NH. Lois enjoyed playing bridge, doing crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader. She was deeply loved by family and friends and will be dearly missed. Lois is survived by her two children, Paul Fons and his spouse, Chieko of Japan, and daughter, Gail Fons and her spouse, Richard Scimone of Boxford, MA; grandchildren Christopher, Alexandra, Ken, and Mimi; her brothers, James Bassett of West Hartford, CT, and Paul Bassett of Avon, CT.
