Bassett, 67, of Granville Summit R.D. 1, brother of Mrs. Jess Kepler, of this city, who died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1975, in Troy Community Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mr. Bassett was a member of Newelltown United Methodist Church. He was a retired employee of the Penn Central Railroad, with 43 years of service. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees. Surviving besides his sister here, are his wife, the former Nellie Campbell, five daughters, Mrs. Alfred Castle, of Canton R.D. 2, Miss Betty Lou Bassett, of Granville Summit R.D. 1, Mrs. Ronald Kenyon and Mrs. Ralph Kenyon, both of Troy, and Mrs. Merle Randall, of Monroeton; two other sisters, Mrs. Mabel Marbaker, of Canton R.D. 2, and Mrs. Richard Denkenberger, of Alba, and 10 grandchildren. A son, Sgt. Robert Bassett, died in Jun, 1973. Burial was in Alba Cemetery.
