Raymond A. Bessette
RAYMOND A. BESSETTE, 55, of Nipmuc Road, a volunteer firefighter, died yesterday at home.
Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Archille and Emma (Levesque) Bessette, he had lived in Westerly before moving to Scituate four years ago.
Mr. Bessette served in the Army during the Vietnam War, and received a Purple Heart.
He was a volunteer at the Potterville Fire Department.
He leaves two brothers, Albert L. Bessette of Scituate and Robert L. Bessette in Florida; three sisters, Cindy L. Gibson of Scituate, Nancy Russell of Central Falls and Emma Audette of Woonsocket; and several nieces and nephews. He was a brother of the late Gladys Ballou.
A funeral service will be held tomorrow at 7:45 a.m. from the Prata Home, 78 Providence St., West Warwick, with a chapel service at 9 at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, followed by burial with full military honors.
