  Notes	Will of William Bassett of Ashwater, Devon Record Office In the name of God, Amen, I William Bassett of the Parish of Ashwater and County of Devon, husbandman being weak of body but of sound mind and memory, I do hereby revoke all wills, Codicils and other Testamentory dispositions made by me at any time or times beforehand and do publish and declare this to be my last will and Testament. Secondly I direct my just debts, funeral and Testamentary expenses and legacies to be paid out of my Real and Personal Estate. First, I do give unto my beloved daughter Elizabeth Bassett now Blight five Pounds: I also give unto my son William Bassett one Pound. Thirdly I give unto my son John Bassett five Pounds. Fourthly I give unto my son Samuel Bassett five Pounds. Also I give unto my son James Bassett four Pounds yearly out of my Estate during the life of William Lilleycrap the first payment to be paid twelve months after me decease provided the life should so long live. I also give unto Mary Bassett now Harris five Pounds. Lastly I give unto my son Richard Bassett, my Estate Tenement in the Parish of Ashwater held in the life of William Lilleycrap with all my good chattles effect whatsoever to ??? belonging ?? they may be found. After the death of my beloved wife Frances Bassett. All my Estate good and chattles and money effects whatsoever to me belonging of whom I make and ordain my wife Frances Bassett to be my whole and sole Executor and Administrator and assignes of this my last will and testament, and after the death of my beloved wife then to my son Richard Bassett as above mentioned the Executor to pay all my just debts and legacies welve months after me decease. And I do utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former testaments and wills and no other to be my last will and Testament. In witness my hand and seal this second day of March in the Year of the Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two.
