Polly Mallory McLean Engaged to Lawyer

Darien, Connecticut, October 22 - Mrs. Hugh C. Harris has made known the engagement of her daughter, Miss Polly Mallory McLean, to Kenneth Burrett Bassett. He is the son of Mrs. Walter B. Bassett of Cincinnati and the late Mr. Bassett
The couple plan to be married early next year.
Miss McLean, daughter also of Charles Stuart McLean Jr. of Vernon, New York, is a graduate of Denison University in Granville, Ohio. She is making her home in Cincinnati.
Mr. Bassett, an alumnus of Denison, also was graduated from the University of Cincinnati School of Law. He served for three years as a lieutenant in the Naval Reserve. He is with the law firm of Nichols, Wood, Marx & Ginter in Cincinnati.

Polly McLean And a Lawyer Wed in Danbury
Graduates of Denison Married in Chapel of Wooster School

Danbury, Connecticut, February 18 - Miss Polly Mallory Mclean and Kenneth Burrett Bassett were married in an Episcopal ceremony here this afternoon in the Wooster School Chapel. The Reverend John Duane Verdery, headmaster of the school, performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Hugh Courtney Harris of Wilton and Charles Stuart McLean Jr. of Vernon, New York. Her husband is the son of Mrs. Walter B. Bassett of Cincinnati and the late Mr. Bassett.
Mr. McLean gave his daughter in marriage. She wore a gown of white silk organza adorned with re-embroidered lace, and a veil of tulle fastened to cap of seed pearls. The bride carried a bouquet of white flowers.
Miss Lavinia Rundel McLean was maid of honor for her sister and Miss Lois Ladly was the other attendant. Thomas Haack was best man.
Mrs. Bassett, who graduated from Denison University, is a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Burton Mallory and of Mrs. Christine Rundel McLean and Charles Stuart McLean, all of Danbury. The bride is a descendant also of Ezra Mallory, founder of the Mallory Hat Company here.
Mr. Bassett, an alumnus of Denison and the University of Cincinnati College of Law, served as a lieutenant for three years with the Navy Reserve. He is with the law firm of Nichols, Wood, Marx & Ginter in Cincinnati.
The bridegroom is a grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Pfeiffer of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William B. Bassett of Cincinnati.
