Jack Bessett (1935-2016) (Picture included)
Jack Edmond Bessett, passed away on August 17, 2016 at the age of 81. He was born on March 20, 1935 in Seaside, Oregon. He married Janice Ann Rowell on Oct. 31, 1954. They had two children and in 1962 settled in Springfield, OR. He had one brother Dale, who proceeded him in death. He was the owner of Portable Rock Production Co. Inc. Jack ran it until 2009 when he retired, and his son Lonny took over.
Jack was a member of the National Guard when he was young. He was also a life member of the Elks Club.
His passion was flying. He owned a hanger at the Creswell Airport where he parked his many planes. Including a Debonair, Steerman, A36 Bonanza, Chipmonk, and a helicopter.
Hunting and Fishing were also his hobbies. He and his son took trips to Mongolia and Russia to hunt Elk. He had many boats and loved ocean fishing.
He is survived by his wife Janice of 61 years, daughter Laurie, and son Lonny, Grandchildren Kristy, Brandon, Angie, Chellie, Danial, Jordan. He also had 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Jacks family would like you to join them as we celebrate his life and say a loving farewell. The celebration will be held at his "duck" farm on Sat., September 10, 2016, at noon. The address is 845 N Pacific Hwy W, Rickreal, Oregon 97431. Main dish and drinks will be provided. Please bring a salad, side dish or desert to share.
