Thomas Bessette Sr., 76
Clintonville, Wis. ? Thomas J. Bessette, Sr., age 76 years, of Clintonville passed away, Monday, October 29, 2007 at Lakeview Manor in Weyauwega, Wis., after a long struggle with Alzheimer's.
Thomas Joseph Bessette was born May 2, 1931 in Bear Creek, Wis., to Howard and Agnes (Fenton). He served in the U.S. Army from 1950-51. On January 17, 1951 he was united in marriage to Lois Bernard in Bear Creek. Lois preceded her husband in death in July of 1986. Tom worked as an iron molder for 35 years at Neenah Foundry, retiring in 1993. On July 3, 1992 he was married to Marian Hovet-Langevin in Thief River Falls. The couple lived in New London, Wis., until settling in Clintonville six years ago. Tom is a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bear Creek, and is currently a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville. He enjoyed cutting firewood, going camping, family picnics, deer hunting, snowmobiling, and traveling. His greatest joy was his family.
Survivors include his wife, Marian, and fourteen children; Diane (Donald) Jarvais of Bear Creek, Tom (Sandy) Bessette, Jr. of Hortonville, Wis., Joy (special friend Ron Patton) Morse of Portage, Wis., Patti (Joe) Lehman of Greenville, Wis., Jeff (spec. friend Carol Augsburger of Hortonville, Wis., Doug (Patti) Bessette of Clintonville, Wis., Robin Bessette of Bear Creek, Wis., Julie (Antonio) Anda of New London, Wis., Tim (spec. friend Chris) Bessette of Petaluma, Calif., Larry (Robin) Langevin, Lynae Englund and Dale (Jennifer) Langevin of Thief River Falls, Fern (Leroy) Cartier of Larimore, N.D., and Carol (Rick) Horien of Holt. There are 38 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. There are four sisters and two brothers; Agnes Bessette of Hot Springs, AR, Elaine Laux of New London, Joe Bessette of Sheboygan, Sr. Anthony Bessette of Hot Springs, AR, Art Bessette of Clintonville, and Madelaine Bessette of Eau Claire. Further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Lois, two brothers, Edward and Terrance Bessette, and two sisters, Ramona Peissig and Sr. Bernard Bessette.
The family wishes to express their deep felt gratitude for the wonderful and loving care provided by the staff of Lakeview Manor in Weyauwega, Wis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville. Burial will follow at Danish Cemetery, Bear Creek. Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass at the church. A parish wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent via www.beil-didier.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund to the Alzheimer's Foundation will be established.
