Henry Tilman Bass
West Columbia - Services for Henry Tilman Bass, 88, of West Columbia, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2004 in Gantt Street Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Gene Rowell and Reverend Carl B. Koon. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 7- 9 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Memorials may be made to Second Chance Ranch, 1095 Damascus Road, Danbury, North Carolina 27016. Mr. Bass died July 13, 2004. Born in Winnsboro, he was a son of the late Louis and Alice Mitchum Bass. Mr. Bass was a member of Gantt Street Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran and retired from the Veteran's Administration after 35 years of service. Mr. Bass was also a former Shriner at Jamil Temple. Surviving are his wife, Juanita L. Bass of West Columbia; daughter, Iris Roland of West Columbia; sister, Louise Hagins of Columbia; step-daughters, Annette L. Almond of Sandy Run, Glenda L. Amick of Chapin, Marilyn L. Dykes of West Columbia, Irma L. Hudson of Pelion; daughters-in-law, Catherine A. Bass of West Columbia, Barbara A. Bass of Hopkins; four grandchildren; and eleven step-grandchildren. Mr. Bass was predeceased by three sons, Ryce Allen Bass, Dwight Moody Bass, Terry Lynn Bass; and former wife, Mary L. Bass.
