LEOMINSTER - Helen J. (Grady) Bassett, 94, formerly of 65 Main St., died Saturday in Keystone Nursing Home, Keystone Drive. Her husband, Harold L. Bassett Sr., died in 1968. She leaves a son, Harold L. Bassett Jr. of Leominster; a daughter, Marion Steele of Forestville, Md.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was born in Clinton, daughter of Patrick and Annie (Ryder) Grady, and lived here many years. She was an inspector for 25 years at the former Cluett-Peabody Co. before she retired. Mrs. Bassett was a member of St. Leo's Church and Leominster Circle, Daughters of Isabella. She was a member, past president and past secretary of the Leominster Golden Age Club, a member of the Leominster Senior Citizens, and a former member of the Leominster Council on Aging and the Leominster Democratic Committee. She was a member, past president and past secretary of Loeminster Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and a member of Clinton Post, VFW Auxiliary. The funeral will be held Wednesday from Wright-Roy Funeral Home, 109 West St., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Leo's Church, 128 Main St. Burial will be in St. Leo's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4 and to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Flowers may be sent, or memorial contributions made to the Leominster Senior Citizens Center, 5 Pond St., Leominster, 01453.
