Bassett Was 69 Charles F. Bassett, 69, former resident of Saratoga Springs, died Sunday at Ithaca. Mr. Bassett, who suffered a heart attack and then a stroke, had been ill for several weeks. He was the father of Mrs. William T. Hinckley, Locust Grove Road, and grandfather of Patricia Hinckley, just named salutatorian of her class at the Saratoga Springs High School. For many years, Mr. Bassett was director of the U.S. Fur Animal Experiment Station, out Church St. Active in The Presbyterian Church, he served as president of the Saratoga Springs Council of Churches. He was a past president of the Saratoga Springs Rotary Club. The funeral will be held Tuesday in Ithaca.
