MUSTANG Hubert Joe Hunter passed away on Aug. 11, 2017, in Mustang, OK. Hubert was born in Woodward County, OK April 2, 1932, to the late Joe B. Hunter & Viola G. Bassett Hunter. He attended Woodward Public Schools and held an associate degree in fire protection technology from Oklahoma State University. He married JoAnn Bingaman on Dec. 15, 1951, in Blanchard, OK. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Okinawa during his time of service. He was a member of the Woodward and Oklahoma City Fire Departments, retiring in 1983, and was also a member of Disciples of Christ Christian Church, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Eastern Star. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jo Ann; his children, Richard Keith Hunter (Sandra), Tia Diane Coventon (Ken), and Tamara Cae (Tami) Schwarz (Ron). Grandchildren include Christina Coventon McKeel (John), Kenny Coventon, Jason Coventon (Julie), Megan Schwarz Hamil (Chadley), and Christopher Schwarz. Great-grandchildren include Madison Pearl Coventon, Cameron Jayce Coventon, and Landon Joseph Hamil. He is also survived by his brother, Everett Bruce Hunter and wife Louise Hunter, Woodward; several nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by sister and her husband, Lois Hunter Terry and Norman Terry. Per Hubert's request, there will be no services.
