Noella G. Bessette
STAFFORD, Conn. ? Noella G. Bessette, 76, of Coventry, formerly of Lebanon, wife of Jules Bessette, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2004 at the Evergreen Health Care Center in Stafford.
She was born Dec. 25, 1927 in St. Albans, VT, the daughter of Arthur and Gervaise (Goyette) Lamothe.
Noella was the valedictorian of her class at Holy Angels High School in St. Albans. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, travelling and reading.
Noella was active in St. Francis Assisi Church in Lebanon for many years and prior to that in St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish in New London. In addition to her husband, she is survived by seven children, Maurice Bessette of Oneco,, Mary Duval of Andover, Michael Bessette of Sun Lakes, Ariz., Ronald Bessette of Bolton, Anne Dukehart of Somers, Claire Bessette of Norwich, and Norman Bessette of Lebanon; two sisters, Rita Lemaire and Pauline Dupuis both of Alburg, Vt., 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Theresa Margaret Benedict and her brother, Maurice J. Lamothe.
There was to be a gathering at the funeral home today, Monday, Aug. 9, at 10 a.m., prior to her 11 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Lebanon. Burial was to follow in New Lebanon Cemetery.
