Willim C. Hirst, Sr. (Picture included)
William C. Hirst, Sr., 86, of Allentown, died Sunday, January 5, 2014, at the Inpatient Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of the late Lorraine (Storrow) Hirst. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Frank and Beatrice (Bessette) Hirst. Before retiring, he owned and operated Hirst Bros. Vacuum Cleaner Service in Allentown. Later, he managed rental properties also in the Allentown area. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, and a former member of the American Legion. Survivors: Sons, William Jr. and his wife, Pat, of Little Rock, AR, Peter A. Sr. and his wife, Judith, of Allentown, Richard R. and his wife, Hollie, of Allentown, David T. and his wife, Beth, of Baltimore, MD; brothers, Frank Jr., James, and Pierre; sisters, Loretta Melick, Frances Mundey; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Ralph, Eugene, Forrest, Gerald, Robert; and sister, Jeanette Hirst. Services: 2:30 p.m., graveside, Thursday, January 9, at Greenwood Cemetery, 2010 W. Chew St., Allentown. Calling will be held 1 to 2 p.m., at Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland St., Allentown. www.trexlerfuneralhome.com.
