Gail J. Bessette
Gail J. (Martinson) Bessette of Townsend died August 10, 2014, after a year-long battle with brain cancer. Gail grew up in Westford and graduated from Nashoba Valley Technical High School with a certificate in graphic design. She was very artistic and enjoyed drawing and music. Gail married Leo Bessette in 1992. They lived in Townsend and were married 20 years before Leo?s death two years ago. Gail will always be remembered as a gentle, peaceful person who loved her children, animals, and the great outdoors. She loved walking her dogs, kayaking, snowshoeing, and spending weekends at their camp in Vermont. Dearly loved by her family and friends, Gail was always ready to spend time talking, hiking, or visiting flea markets. She would take any opportunity to be outside, surrounded by nature. Gail was a loving and dedicated mother to her children, Luke and Samantha, the latter a 2014 Bromfield graduate. In addition to her children, Gail is survived by her mother, Peggy, and brother, Karl. A memorial and celebration of Gail?s life was held Saturday, August 16, at the Holiday Inn in Boxborough. The family has requested that, instead of flowers, donations be made to Camp Sunshine, 35 Acadia Road, Casco, Maine 04015, www.campsunshine.org.
