PEKIN ? Earl W. Bassett, 57, 1409 S. Seventh St., died at 8.05 p.m. Friday in the Methodist Hospital in Peoria. He had been a patient for one week and in failing health for seven years.
Hhis funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Juecks Funeral Home with the Rev. Henry Sorenson officiating. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-5 and 7-9 Sunday at the funeral home.
He was born Aug. 17, 1911 in Peking, the son of William and Florence Ritchie Bassett. He married Hazel M. Lane Jan. 30, 1938 in Pekin.
He is survived by his wife, a son Charles, with the Air Force at Nashville, Tenn.; two daughtes, Mrs. Judith Sieh, Pekin; Miss Julie Lynn, at home; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Zehring, Creve Coeur; and three grandchildren. A brother preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, the Pekin Elks Lodge, and the Fearn Wilson School dads? Club. He had served as cubmaster and scoutmaster.
He had been employed by Commonweath Edison Co. for 25 years.
