Bassett
Bassett, Bud "Carroll" of Swartz Creek, age 75, died Monday, October 21, 1996 after a long illness, at the residence. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Friday, October 25, 1996 at Bristol Road Church of Christ, G-1315 West Bristol Road, Mr. Gary Turner officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Valley Christian Academy or Michigan Heart Association. Visitation 5-9PM Wednesday and 1-3 and 5-9PM Thursday at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Bud will be at the church from 10AM until the time of service on Friday. He was born in Arbyrd, Missouri on September 5, 1921, the son of Curt and Effie Lou Bassett, and moved to Flint in 1944. He worked for General Motors until 1960 when he went to work for Flint Pipe and Well Supply, where he became manager until retirement in 1984. BUd was a fine man and the example of what a husband, father, grandfather and friend should be. He leaves to honor his memory his wife, Peggy; daughter, Deb Bassett; step-children, Melanie (Bill) Anderson, Sheila DuPlanty, Kevin McAlister and Yolanda McAlister; grandchildren, Derrick McAlister, Tanya Anderson and Nichole DuPlanty; the apple of his eye, Kelsi Marie McAlister; special friend, Karen Gould; beloved father and mother-in-law, Clyde and Zelma Jacques; many loved brothers and sisters-in-law, neices, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Gary Bassett.
