      Robert Harold Bassett, 61, of Midwest City, OK passed away on October 09, 2020. He was born June 17, 1959 in Oklahoma City, OK to Harold Bassett and Neda (Bassett) Gates.

      Robert was better known and Bob, and graduated from Stigler High School. His career included being a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union ? Local 344 for 30+ years working construction projects in the Oklahoma City metro-area and throughout the state of Oklahoma, until he retired in 2016.

      Bob was known as a hard worker with determination, wit, a kind heart, and a generous soul.

      His passion was water skiing ? especially bare-foot water skiing. He enjoyed all sports, especially OU and Dallas Cowboys football, and NHRA Drag Racing.

      Bob was preceded in death by his parents, mother Neda (Bassett) Gates of Midwest City, OK, and father Harold Bassett of El Reno, OK.

      Bob is survived by his Step-father Martin Gates of the home, and his sister Angela (Bassett) Godsil (husband John Godsil) of Indianapolis, IN, Step-brothers Larry Gates of Norman, OK, and Steven Gates (wife Diane) of Houston, TX, Aunts Susie Wormington of Midwest City, OK, and Lorraine Richardson of Eufaula, OK, Uncles Glenn Parks (wife Wanda) of Harrah, OK, and Murray Lea of Houston, TX, and many cousins including Cheryl Lindsey (husband Ken) of Oklahoma City, OK, Lonnie Wormington (wife Missy) of Purcell, OK, and numerous members of the Bassett family.

      Bob will be remembered as a kind, generous, and fun loving person. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

      A special thanks and gratitude to cousin, Cheryl and Pastor Kenny Lindsey for all their continued love and support.

      The family will be available to receive family & friends Tuesday October 13, 2020 at 6:00 pm at the funeral home; Barnes-Friederich Funeral Home, 1820 S. Douglas Blvd, Midwest City, OK 73130.
