BASSETT, Clarence "Joe" and wife, Sallie Of Ruskin, FL, died Apr.8,2011 in an auto accident in FL. Joe was a retired engineer with Dana Corp. and Sallie was a retired Levi Strauss worker. Survivors include daughters, Janie Mash, Hampshire; Veronica Benson, Loretto; Pam Hubert, MA; son, Ronald Skipper, Mt. Pleasant; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; Sallie's sister, Marion George, Birmingham; and Joe's brother. Services, 1 p.m.. Fri. CENTERVILLE — Clarence “Joe” Bassett, 82, died Friday, April 8, 2011, in an auto accident while in Florida.Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at McDonald Funeral Home in Centerville with Tommy Cagle and Dennis Tidwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Sheboss Cemetery.Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the funeral home.He was a native of Greenfield, Mass., son of Clarence W. Bassett and Alberta May Northway Bassett and was a retired engineer for Dana Corp. Joe’s wife, Sallie Smith Bassett, died with him in the accident.Survivors include daughters Janie Mash of Hampshire, Veronica Benson of Loretto and Pam Hubert of Massachusetts; son Ronald Skipper of Mt. Pleasant, a brother, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
